Modern Teochew Essence
Crafting a Contemporary Chinese Dining Experience

Location: XiChang, Teochew City, Guangdon, China
Time: 04/2021
Area: 564㎡
Type: Hospitality
Client:  public

The Teochew Mansion culinary project is dedicated to blending the ancient essence of Teochew culture with modern civilization. Drawing inspiration from characteristic Teochew architecture, the design incorporates traditional elements such as Teochew grandeur, Teochew porcelain, gold embroidery, and scholar's rocks. These cultural symbols are reflected not only in the interior space's materials and tone but also through the use of modern craftsmanship and atmospheric lighting, creating a profound and innovative Teochew neo-Chinese space.

The restaurant's design concept takes cues from ancient Teochew architectural features like horse-drawn carriages, integrating these into the Teochew dining culture's philosophy of geometric harmony. By repurposing old items in new ways, it showcases a deep love for art and culture and a relentless pursuit of high quality. This space focuses on human comfort and safety while providing a feast for both culture and the eyes, allowing every visitor to deeply experience the charm of Teochew culture and the clever integration of modern design.

The seating arrangement is planned according to the architectural
layout of the traditional Teochew "Ha Sia Hu" residences.

Modern craftsmanship is integrated with scholar's rock elements.
